History

From Santiago to a global field network.

2002

Founded in Chile as Consultora Malthus, providing strategic socio-economic and corporate advisory for the Latin American energy and mining sectors.

2010

Expanded international presence by establishing a second headquarters in Australia, opening the firm's work across the Asia-Pacific region.

Since

Grown into Malthus Global — collaborating with leading mining companies, governments, development institutions, research centres, consultancies and civil society groups across more than 30 jurisdictions. We've watched how extractive-industry discussions have evolved, and what it takes to build a value proposition that holds up under scrutiny.

Always

We engage local stakeholders and communities directly across Africa, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific, to understand the real connections between industrial operations and regional expectations — not just what's written in the impact statement.

Our Methodology

Four pillars guide every engagement.

Like a core sample through bedrock, our method is layered — each pillar builds the evidentiary foundation for the next.

01 — Evidence

Robust, data-driven evidence

Robust, data-driven evidence for stronger decision-making, built from primary research and verifiable sources.

02 — Benchmark

Globally benchmarked scenarios

We frame local expectations into globally benchmarked scenarios, so findings travel across jurisdictions.

03 — Insight

Independent socio-political insight

Rigorous, independent socio-economic and political insights, free from sponsor bias.

04 — Engagement

Collaboration and engagement

Direct collaboration and engagement with companies, governments, and communities throughout each study.
